Last year, The Foxley Docket had the absolute privilege of attending Salon Privé, an annual supercar showdown held on the beautiful and prestigious grounds of Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, a location which also holds the merit of being the birthplace of Winston Churchill.
In 2016, the 11th annual Salon Privé returns to the Palace for its 2nd consecutive year over the weekend of the 1st to the 3rd of September, securing a reputation for being the UK’s most opulent Luxury Supercar Show and Concours D’Elegance.
The three day extravaganza includes a vast array of stunning and sophisticated aspects of the luxury lifestyle from the Boodles Ladies’ Day to the traditional Salon Privé Supercar Show, which having seen firsthand, it can be firmly stated that this is truly a breathtaking display which has to be seen to be believed. Also on show is the EFG Art and Memorabilia Fair and the Salon Privé Sale. The three day event strives to celebrate high end fashion, and gives motoring enthusiasts the opportunity to admire modern day supercars up close and personally. Naturally, it comes as no surprise that Salon Privé is one of the leading automotive shows across the world, hot on the heels of international events including US’ Pebble Beach and Italy’s Villa d’Este.
Whilst attending the show, powerful engine pundits can expect to see the latest supercars from motoring favourites including Jaguar, Koenigsegg, Lamborghini and Italian brand Pagani, whose showroom we had the opportunity to visit, spending hours in splendour and meeting the man who started it all himself, Horacio Pagani. Salon Privé’s unique appeal comes from being the only event to offer guests the opportunity of a test drive experience on the public road with a ‘see it, test it, drive it’ programme.
2016 sees the international and UK debuts of the Bristol Bullet, Lamborghini Centenario and the Morgan EV3 1909 Edition, alongside petrolhead favourites including the Abarth 124 Spider, Ferrari GTC4Lusso, Jaguar F-Type SVR, the Lamborghini Huracán, Noble Speedster and Tesla Model X. Not exclusive to motoring brands, also on display at this year’s event are British jewellers Boodles, Danish technology connoisseurs Bang & Olufsen and fragrant candle company, Grace & Butler to name a few, embodying a ‘something for everyone’ approach. Meanwhile, the Art & Memorabilia fair allows motoring enthusiasts and art appreciators to come together and meet some of the world’s most talented automotive artists, including Carismo Photo, Friere Printz and Unique & Limited.
