MGM Project – The Diamond Collection

With 12 years of experience within the stonemasonry industry, The MGM Project is overseen by Grzegorz Majka, who after being influenced by his uncle Adam Niessner, the founder of Budonis Sp z.o.o, dedicated his life to his craft. Grzegorz started the MGM Project to help budding and potential stonemasons follow in Grzegorz’ footsteps, and in turn, supporting the stone industry and pushing it forward.

This month, we turn our attention to The Diamond Collection, designed by stonemason and founder, Grzegorz Majka. When approaching this collection, Grzegorz aspired to portray how by using natural stone, a sense of personality and colour can be created in interiors and private spaces, turning the simple house into a home, with a splash of family. The base, exclusive to Grzegorz, was crafted entirely by hand, and is a venture into a new territory, and his passion for natural materials. Innovative in its aesthetic, the unique solution allows natural stone to be utilised in a completely new image.

Having worked 12 years in the world of stonecutting, Grzegorz turned his attention to new uses and meaning for natural stone. Remaining in the world of nature, Grzegorz found his attention drawn to tulip flowers and aloe bushes, which contributed to the Diamond Ring coffee table’s blooming shaping. The Diamond Collection is constantly growing, and features pieces which embody the notion of forbidden fruit, tempting in their innovative solution, shape and uniqueness.

The base of pieces in The Diamond Collection consists of a beautiful, characteristically warm brown granite, known as “antique brown”, with a chambered tampered glass top, measuring approximately 1.5cm in thickness. In the future, Grzegorz plans to explore the possibilities offered by other materials such as prestigious polish green serpentinite and other stones, bursting full of colour, with each structure offering an array of unique qualities.
