Since its inception in 1902, Triumph Motorcycles has been producing beautifully crafted iconic bikes which effortlessly infuse charisma, character, performance and intricate design. For over two decades, Triumph has operated from its workshop in Hinckley, Leicestershire.

The brand build approximately 54 and a half thousand bikes every year, making the Leicestershire based brand the largest British motorcycle manufacturer in the world, with 750 dealers dotted all over the world. No stranger to the spotlight, Triumph motorcycles were the bike of choice for a number of British winning teams, and infamously, the US ride entry of actor Steve McQueen in 1964.

On the 8th August 2016, Triumph rewrote their brand’s history as the Infor Rocket Streamliner became the fastest ever Triumph to grace the Bonneville Salt Flats. Driven by English motorcycle racer and television personality Guy Martin, the Infor Rocket Streamliner reached a breathtaking 274.2 mph, shattering the previous records of 245.667 and 264mph, both set by Bob Leppan in the Gyronaut X-1.

Setting off on the first run just after 8.30am, conditions were near perfect and confidence was running highly between the team. Just after the two mile marker, Martin brought the vehicle to a controlled stop near the Triumph base camp where he was informed that he had broken the Triumph record, which had remained untouched in 46 years. Speaking about the feat, Martin commented, “It’s good and we are moving in the right direction, but it is just one step on the way to what me and the team are here to do.”
