Another insight into the magical world of Kensington Bespoke – the luxury emporium packed with hidden gems from high-end accessories to homeware, fragrances and fashion.

Making the most of their 60 years of experience in delivering the very finest goods in the world, the personal shoppers at Kensington Bespoke have plucked these wonderful leather items from their shelves to share with you.

Leather goods made by dedicated hands

The fact that every piece created by the caring hands of Glenroyal’s master craftsmen gives each piece incredible uniqueness, in contrast to the age of mass production we now live in.

There are very few places in the modern world that can promise immaculately high standards and actually achieve them.

But from their original premises in Ayrshire, Scotland, Glenroyal specialises in bridle leather, where cowhides are expertly treated and tanned to achieve the most luxuriant softness.

The Glenroyal collection available at Kensington bespoke includes expertly made hip wallets, coin purses, key cases and some wonderfully intricate – albeit extremely hardy – stirrup belts.

Utilitarian chic

From the skilled hands of British designer Mimi Berry come these delightful leather shoulder bags.

Made from British sourced vegetable tanned leather, each bag exudes the celebrated designer’s enthusiasm of having everything well and truly handmade in England.

Aside from the obviously stylish contemporary look of each bag, it is interesting to know that Mimi insists on the traditional craft of vegetable tanning to be used in all of her work.

Believe it or not, this process does not use garden vegetables through the tanning process, but instead it harvests the qualities of tree barks, fruit and leaves – all of which are found in British woodlands.

A true romance

The story of this luxury leather brand starts with a romantic tale of J meets M.

They meet on a Spanish beach in 1969 and J persuades M to move to England and the two spend decades travelling the globe, sharing their creativity and building a fashion house which is celebrated around the world.

Our two star crossed lovers in this story are John and Monique Davidson, who launched their brand by combining his British flair as a designer and her eye for style.

Remarkably, the brand started with Monique picking up a studded dog collar and remarking that it would look good as a belt.

Some 40 years later, J&M Davidson has created handbags, wallets and accessories that are particularly made with strong, confident women in mind and have made fans of Princess Diana and Jerry Hall.

The styles available with Kensington Bespoke take in the pair’s adventurous lifestyle and combine inspiration from Rio carnivals and mock-croc vintage styles.
