It’s no secret within the sartorial circles that no outfit is truly complete without accessories to complement it and add the finishing touches. In recent years, a number of women have turned to the world of luxury scarves for this piece de resistance. They look fabulous folded around the neck or shoulders, versatile in their aesthetic and sitting beauty in both formal and casual outfits, radiating sophistication wherever they go.
With this in mind, step forward London-based women’s luxury brand, Bianca Elgar, named after its founder. In 2011, the British fashion connoisseur moved abroad for 6 months. From here, the decision to pursue a career in the fashion world was one of convenience, as Bianca cites, “The idea for the designs came when I needed to pack light for travel, I had a lot to bring with me and that left me having to keep my own clothes to a minimum.” This need for feasibility, combined with a desire to create a plethora of outfits with just a few items, and showing scarf prints off in a new way, led Bianca to launch Bianca Elgar. Everything is designed and manufactured in Britain, an aspect of Bianca Elgar which is very important to Bianca.
In May 2017, Bianca’s contributions to fashion industry were recognised as the brand were awarded the highly coveted Silver A’ Design Award at the International Fashion and Travel Accessories Design Competition for its ‘Three-Sided Skinny’ scarf, and the bronze award for the ‘Ava Tunic Dress.’ Bianca Elgar was met with acclaim over pieces by hundreds of high quality international fashion designers.
The winning designs were produced from a desire to create unique designs which were both transformative and could be worn in a variety of ways. The aspiration was to unveil fashionable items which also served as “must have” investment pieces for refined fashionistas.
Bianca Elgar scarves are lightweight, easy to style and an unrivalled start for those who wish to spice up their outfits with a twist of colour and a tasteful print. Made in Britain, Bianca Elgar scarves are created using only the highest quality silk, serving as “wearable art.”
This victory comes at a time when, with Brexit looming on the horizon, a need for the United Kingdom to flex its fashion muscles is essential in the modern business world. Safe to say, Britain’s very own homegrown designers do not disappoint in a world deep in fashion, versatility and most importantly, aesthetically pleasing fashion design.
