The Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve – The Flavour of Father’s Day

The Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve

With Father’s Day getting closer and closer, in the weeks running up, sons and daughters everywhere look for the perfect gift for their fathers. There’s such a wide variety of gifts available, from glittering watches to men’s grooming products. But how about something quite traditional? After all, who doesn’t enjoy a nice glass of whisky at the end of a long day?

Introducing The Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve. (£34.15)

The Glenlivet is a tantalising single malt Scotch whisky. The namesake dates back to the early 19th century, created by George Smith in 1824. In Gaelic, Glenlivet translates as “valley of the smooth-flowing one”, and whisky from Livet Valley has been often recognised for its unrivalled quality since the 1800s. The Glenlivet is considered by many in the industry to be the biggest contributor to the volume growth of single malt whiskies all over the world, contributing more single malt whiskies than any other brand in the past five years.

The Glenlivet also bears the merit of being ‘the single malt that started it all’, committing to embodying this legacy today, with its range of immaculate quality single malts, innovative in approach. Notable single malt whiskies include The Glenlivet Cipher, and the creation of The Guardians of the Glenlivet, an online forum where appreciators of The Glenlivet whiskies can come together to engage with the brand and share their love of The Glenlivet products.

Back to The Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve…

In Founder’s Reserve, The Glenlivet pays tribute to the original vision of founder George Smith, by embodying the smooth and fruity taste George first envisioned in 1824, with a modern twist.

The taste of a good whisky does not come down to the whisky alone. In the case of The Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve, a skilful selection of casks adds to the signature fruitful flavours embodied by The Glenlivet. Whisky taken from The Glenlivet’s traditional oak casts is tastefully complemented by the selective use of first-fill casks from the United States of America, which adds a twist of creamy sweetness to Founder’s Reserve.

The Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve

Described by The Glenlivet as being “a deliciously satisfying dram”, Founder’s Reserve is a tasteful blend of citrus fruits on the lips, opening into a fruit bowl of oranges and pears as it first meets the palate. Sinking into the taste buds, flavours of toffee apples and candy are unlocked, almost reminiscent of a Bonfire Night, when we remember clutching our father’s hand as we witness the exuberant displays light up the night sky. As it sinks down the gullet, the Founder’s Reserve concludes this taste sensation with a long, creamy, smooth finish.

The Glenlivet, Founder’s Reserve is available from Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Morrisons, Asda, www.thewhiskeyexchange.com and all specialist retailers.
