Chapman Bags

Cumbria-based adventurer’s best friend brand Chapman Bags offer the outdoor lifestyle to women with their range of authentically British crafted bags for all pursuits. Working closely with some of the UK’s leading designers, Chapman Bags offer a variety of exquisite styles and sizes to fit all occasions and cater to women everywhere in pursuit of the great outdoors.

This month, we explore some of the elegant yet versatile pieces on offer for today’s adventurer.

First, the Tweed Saddle Bag. Simple yet elegant, The Tweed Saddle Bag is the perfect style for everyday use, slinging simply over the shoulder and sitting comfortably at the hip. The bag is made of tweed, woven exclusively in the Borders, laminated to cotton dyed in Britain. The Tweed Saddle Bag features a full leather flap to ensure whatever lies inside remains dry, an adjustable leather strap and an adjustable magnetic clasp with a leather trimmed interior zip pocket. Blending effortlessly into any outfit, the Tweed Saddle Bag is available in traditional Green Border Tweed, complemented tastefully by tan leather, and Black Border Tweed, dressed in navy leather. (£149.50)

Second, the Eden tote bag. Dressed in handsome tweed and rich leather, the Eden has plenty of room for everything today’s woman needs while on the go, and more. For the most part, the Eden tote bag consists of weatherproof Border tweet, and is available in a duo of dynamic colour schemes; Green with tan leather, and black with navy leather. Protecting what lies inside has been made a priority with the Eden tote bag, and to this end, Chapman Bags have applied leather base corner reinforcements, with metal feet so that the Eden has the ability to stand upright when required, protecting the bottom of the bag. The Eden tote bag is versatile in its aesthetic, able to be carried over the shoulder or by hand. (£199)

Last but by no means least, the Lucy. The Lucy is plucked straight from the Chapman Bags Rydal Collection, aptly named after the home of iconic playwright and Lake District native, William Wordsworth. The main material present in the exterior of the Lucy is weatherproof Border tweed, laminated to a cotton dyed in Britain. The Lucy is available in a pair of colour schemes – green with tan leather, and black with navy leather. Effortlessly versatile, the Lucy can be carried slung on the shoulder, or swung loosely in the hand at the wearer’s side, with both looking elegantly stylish, and with adjustable leather handles, it’s never been easier. Features on the Lucy include an adjustable leather shoulder strap, an interior zip and slip pockets with a generous leather trim. A full base section with metal feet protects everything inside the bag from the damage of the country ground or the forest floor. Chapman Bags describe the Lucy as being “a fine combination of modern British style and traditional British craftsmanship.”
