The Silver Zebra – The Year Ahead

The Silver Zebra

Starting 2017 with a bang, we catch up with world renowned kiln formed glass artist and Cheshire native, Deborah Moses of The Silver Zebra.

We’re just shy of two weeks into 2017, and popular as ever and attracting budding artists from all over the world, Deborah’s classes are filling up quickly. However, for those hoping to experience Deborah’s fascinating and art, worry not – Deborah has plans to invite artists and appreciators alike into her studio to share her expertise in June onwards. Readers of luxury lifestyle publication The Foxley Docket are also warmly invited to enjoy a generous 20% discount on all bookings up until April.

Taking place over the weekend of the 20th and the 21st of May, Simply Cheshire returns to its picturesque home on the breath-taking grounds of Arley Hall and Gardens for the second year. Here, Deborah Moses will serve as the event’s hometown hero, commenting “It was a super event when I attended in 2015, so I’m looking forward to this year being equally as good!”

Speaking in ambiguous tones, over the course of the conversation, Deborah informed us that she has a new sculpture collection due to be unveiled to the public in February. Keeping her work under wraps and very much “hush hush”, she gave us a clue, claiming it’s “interactive”, which certainly raised an eyebrow or two, with eager minds whirring at Foxley HQ. Delving deep into the realms of nostalgia, Deborah added that “The collection will spark a few childhood memories”, much like her previous “Marbles” collection.

Ever the philanthropist, Deborah continues to work endlessly with local Cheshire charity CAFT (Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.) To this extent, Deborah has invited two members of the children’s charity to participate in one of Deborah’s highly sought after workshops, with a view to create a collaboration with The Silver Zebra for CAFT later in 2017.

In December, Deborah, her family and her husband embraced the festive spirit and joined CAFT in celebrating Christmas, an event patroned by Noddy Holder of Slade fame, a man who’s become synonymous with Christmas, thanks to annual tradition, “Merry Christmas Everyone”. Other patrons included Melanie Bishop, wife of philanthropist, actor, comedian and fellow Patron, John Bishop and Paralympic gold medalist and three time British national track champion, Dame Sarah Storey. Speaking about the CAFT Christmas Ball, Deborah exuberantly described the event as being “simply fabulous!” Above is a picture of Deborah’s husband with The King of Christmas himself, Noddy Holder.
