On May 2nd 2015, the latest addition to the British monarchy was born. In Paddington, London, Princess Charlotte joined the ranks of princes and princesses for centuries before her, and became the younger sister of Prince George of Cambridge, whose birth became worldwide news in 2013.
On the 15th August 2016, the news broke that Princess Charlotte, along with Prince George, would be accompanying her parents William and Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, on a royal tour of Canada. Scheduled for the end of September, the trip is due to spread across the course of eight days, with activities planned for the whole family, into which the Prince and Princess can be incorporated, as reported by The Sunday Times.
Upon announcement of the trip, excitement radiated from the royal couple about the notion of visiting Canada again. A Kensington Palace spokesperson commented, “The Duke and Duchess hold very happy memories from their visit in 2011 – their first overseas tour as a married couple. They are really looking forward to seeing other parts of this beautiful country and having the opportunity to meet many more Canadians along the way.”
This voyage marks the second royal visit for Princess Charlotte, having visited France recently, while Prince George accompanied the Duke and Duchess on an official tour of Australia and New Zealand.
