Windsor Castle – A Photographic Celebration   New!

Windsor Castle is a British icon in itself – with centuries of history behind it, the official residence of the Queen is one of Britain’s most defining landmarks, alongside Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, amongst others.

To commemorate the castle’s grandeur, Royal Mail have released a set of 10 new stamps, in what they describe as a ‘photographic celebration’ of the building and its history. The collection of stamps features both Windsor Castle’s stylistic interior and historic exterior. One set of the ten stamps features an image of St George’s Hall, which after a devastating fire in 1992, has been restored to its former beauty.

Speaking to the BBC, stamp strategy manager at Royal Mail, Philip Parker commented, “Windsor Castle is one of the most famous buildings in the world and has been a family home to kings and queens for almost a thousand years. Our new stamps celebrate the grandeur of this royal residence.”
