Chamberlain & Co

Long established since 1788, Chamberlain & Co create luxury fine bone china in the heart of Worcestershire, continuing the region’s proud tradition of ceramic distinction.

Beside the River Severn in Worcester, Dr John Wall invented a new method of creating porcelain and established his first factory there in 1751, beginning a tradition of manufacture that endures in the county to this day.

In 1788 one of Dr Wall’s first apprentices, Robert Chamberlain, established his own factory in Severn Street, which became the heart of Worcester’s famous Royal Porcelain Works. Chamberlain was a highly talented artist and craftsman who soon gained recognition in his own right from connoisseurs around the world as a ceramic manufacturer of distinction. Chamberlain’s international reputation flourished due to the beauty and quality of his work and in 1807, following a visit to the Works, the Prince of Wales granted Chamberlain the Royal Warrant.

The name Chamberlain and that of the Royal Porcelain Works that Robert Chamberlain founded have been synonymous internationally with quality, decorative excellence and exclusivity for more than two hundred years. Re-imagined for modern luxury interiors, the new Chamberlain & Co ornamental range features beautiful shapes and patterns inspired by the rich heritage of British ceramics, all decorated entirely by hand by the most talented of ceramic artists. Combining traditional craftsmanship with modern style and inspiration, we are breathing new life into this historic art.

At Chamberlain & Co they believe nothing rivals the beauty of handmade, hand-painted English fine bone china and that those who seek the very best in unique, prestige statement pieces should not have to compromise.
